Tami L. Farber, President of Together Leading the Future, Inc. (TLF), brings you more than twenty years of experience in the fields of child/youth development, education, organizational leadership and community organizing for national and international government and non-governmental organizations, schools and the for-profit sector.
Prior to starting her company, Tami worked with organizations such as the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), YMCA of Greater NY, Save the Children US, the Department of Education in New York, and the United Nations International School. Tami currently serves on the Columbia University School of Social Work Advisory Board to the Dean, is an Adjunct faculty member at Hunter School of Social Work and continues as a guest presenter/lecturer for Schools of Social Work in the North East.
Tami has extensive experience in the development and implementation of programs, curriculums and national sylibi; creating relationships with community partners and building training materials and facilitating learning sessions for the global social welfare and educational community. She has worked in the US and internationally in countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa, India, Nepal, Thailand, Switzerland, Turkey, Jamaica, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. Tami has been honored by Columbia University, Long Island University and the City of New York on World Refugee Day.
She earned her BA from Long Island University, Global College with a concentration in Child Development and Indigenous Education, MSW from Columbia University with a focus on Social Administration and International Social Welfare and is a candidate for her PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center Program in Social Welfare. She received her antiracism training through the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond and is a certified Children’s Yoga Specialist.
Tami’s ongoing work brings her to schools, governmental and inter-governmental organizations, community based organizations and companies running programs, organizing and facilitating small and large scale conferences, developing programs and curriculum and leading trainings and workshops for young people, adult professionals and parents. Programs and training topics range from Child and Youth Development, inter-cultural education, human rights/social justice, identity, communication, and trauma and stress reduction. In addition, leadership development, building advisory programs, social responsibility and service learning within our schools, organizational leadership and creating and sustaining effective partnerships. Tami is also a private life coach providing one-on-one support for people ready to live an extraordinary life!
With each community Tami works with she brings a passion and commitment. Her style and techniques in organizing and building relationships has led to continued success. Her work is rooted in social justice and an anti-oppression/human rights framework and is committed to a being part of building a beautiful world for all.
