Zoë Brookes
I’ve been practicing yoga all my life, but it took my three children to teach me how to play again. In my late thirties I began discovering all over how it feels to try something new, to conquer fears, to learn a new skill, just for fun. In the last seven years I have learned to ski, figure skate, perform on a flying trapeze, walk on a tight wire, ride a unicycle, walk on stilts, catch a diabolo, build a human pyramid, hang from my ankles wrapped in fabric, dance with abandon and lift someone heavier than me over my head. It’s been a journey. On the way, I have learned much about how to help others find the courage to fully enjoy themselves. Ten years ago in my professional life I led thought and discussion. Now, I lead play. And no-one is too old, too fat, too
important, too shy or too clumsy to join in.
